Hi Rita, Thank you so much for your info. I have read other topics on this website and have lots of respect on you. I read you have run 20+ marathons already. I envy you.

First of all, yeap, i ran/walked the marathon :) (But i am already so happy to finish it. Like I have done it, you know :) )

To your question about my longest run: two weeks before the marathon I ran/walked 20 miles. At that point my knees were painful, so i stopped.

One week before the marathon I ran/walked 22 miles. This time, i was not painful.

I think my shoe is about 600 miles old at the time of marathon. Additional question, generally how often should i change shoes? From the way you say, am i correct to say the major cause of KNEE pain has to do with the shoe?

Other questions :) What exercises should i do to improve my knee strength? Or i just have to keep running it?

How long does a person need to train to run, not run/walk, the entire marathon?

Again, thanks much for your info and sharing. moe
