Most of my long runs were at race pace - and I slowed down for the 20 miler... (18 miles at 8:30 pace etc) On marathon day I had to work not to get ahead of the 3:50 pace group for the first few miles (pee break - heat and GU later then I planned hurt a bit). Race went well - looking to improve but always unsure of LR pace - so thanks. Might do a training program with more then ONE 20 mile LR. I just worry that if I can't do 20 at race pace how can I do 26.2 at that pace... I know - all about the training.
