I'm training for a marathon in March and am just now learning to drink water during a run. I normally don't drink on runs under 11 miles, but am planning to do a half-marathon this Sat. and will probably need to hydrate during the race. Since I don't get thirsty while running, I need to plan when to stop for water. There are water stops about every 2 miles. When do you start drinking water on long (more than 10 miles) runs? My last long run (16.5 miles), I stashed some water at mile 12, but heard that it takes a while for your body to absorb the water, which means I probably didn't absorb the few ounces I managed to get down until I was almost finished my run.
