Calf stretches

I have had PF for a year and have run through the pain (because it goes away after a mile or so, and then doesn't come back until afterward). I have heard that doing lots of calf stretching and strengthening exercises helps - because the plantar fascia is attached to the achilles which is attached to the gastrocnemius (calf) muscle.
