First of all I have ran two 1/2 marathons in the past year so I should be fit enough to try a full marathon. I don't see anything wrong with walking some during a marathon and I probably will I just personally for myself would like to run across the finish line. as for my 16 miler that should of been 18, I felt ok afterwards. I usally don't run the day after a long run, but I felt so guilty about not finishing my whole run that I did run the next day and everything was fine other than a cold that I woke up with that morning. As for my goal time, Runtex, is probably right, I might be hoping for too much. Even though I can't get my goal time out of my head,(I've been trying)no matter what my time is on marathon day I know that in the end I will be proud to finish. The 20 miler went o.k. I did walk some but I have one more 20 miler before my taper and I plan on using that one to really critique my fuel/water intake and running strategy. The big day is Nov.1 so I will keep you posted.
