interesting that you consider that you are training for a marathon...while it may be your eventual goal, it might be better at this point to say you are "base building"... four weekday runs of 2 miles and 4 miler on the weekend gives you 12 miles with the long run 33% of your total mileage. Not that bad right now but hopefully you will be adding to the weekday runs as you boost the 'long run' or you may set yourself up for injuries... most 'plans' keep the long run closer to 25% of the weekly total...
Is there a running group in your area? have you invested in good shoes, from a running store? Are you keeping a running log? It's good that you have given yourself plenty of time to get to your goal... please continue to post your progress, I think that is at least as important as race results... good luck, if you train well the marathon will be like the graduation party!
