I wonder if you other first-timers have found any new info since your posts. I'm starting to get a little nervous about where to stay while in NYC, mostly due to my anxiety about transportation to the starting line. Even the official marathon website recommends the ferry, so maybe it's best to pick a hotel near Battery Park?
