wow... I couldn't imagine how you could do such a long run using an indoor track and NOT be sore, all those turns... as for gels & gatorade, lots of people find that the two together will upset their stomach, for me it's a lower GI issue... you are an experiment of one, keep trying to find what works for you. I have never run more than 20 miles before a marathon...
the good news is that after you get that first marathon behind you your next training cycle should be easier and barring injuries or long layoffs each training cycle should be a bit easier... of course if you get truly addicted you'll training harder and they might not seem easier, but you will probably run more miles, or run faster or both!... hopefully you're keeping a running log so you can figure out what works for you and what doesn't... enjoy that first marathon, you've worked hard to get there... -Rita
