Hi, I have a marathon coming up 9/26 and I am shooting for a 3:15. My last effort this spring was a 3:22. I recently purchased a garmin 305 and have been very conscious of my paces. I plan on doing about 50-60 miles per week. Speed work/track once a week and tempo once a week and a long run on the wknd. I recently ran a 10k at 45:00. I did two tempo 2 miles last night at about 7:00 and 6:52 with half mile jog in between. I'm wondering what my tempo pace should be and how fast I should be doing my every day runs. I feel like if my marathon goal is 3:15, I should be doing my runs faster than 7:25 pace. Also how fast should my long runs be?
